Raney Boosts Hit Streak to 32 Games

David Raney, third baseman for the Moncton Mounties, ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 32 games with 1 hit in his club's 10-7 victory over the Abingdon Archers at Mapleton Yards.
"Not the outcome we wanted," Abingdon manager Roberto Enriquez said. "There's never a good time to lose, and it's never fun to be on the wrong end of somebody else's accomplishment." David Raney struck out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, flied out in the 7th, walked in the 9th, struck out in the 11th and doubled in the 12th.
This year, Raney has batted at a .482 pace with 82 hits, 23 home runs, 69 RBIs and scored 55 times.
