Hitting Streak Still Alive for Valdez Sunday, June 8th , 2025 The Ft. Wayne Earthquakes stopped the Jacksonville Nationals, 9-3, and Jose Valdez collected a base hit yet again. The Ft. Wayne shortstop finished with 1 hit to run his consecutive-game hitting streak to 32. "I want to get a hit every time up," a visibly excited Valdez told reporters after the contest. "I want to get a hit every game I play. Right now, I feel like I could take this streak to 100 games." Jose Valdez doubled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, flied out in the 5th and grounded out in the 7th. This season, Valdez has banged out 94 hits in 230 at-bats for a .409 average with 16 home runs. He is getting on base at a .498 pace and his totals also include 52 RBIs and 67 runs scored. |
