Hit Streak Now at 25 for Valdez Sunday, June 1st , 2025 Win or lose, Jose Valdez just keeps on getting base hits -- game after game after game. He picked up 2 more today and has now stretched his hitting streak to 25 games. The Ft. Wayne Earthquakes shortstop went 2-for-4, but it wasn't enough to win the game. His club was defeated, 7-5, by the San Antonio Griffins at Earthquakes Stadium. "It's amazing to watch him hit right now, but I don't think anybody's really mentioning it," one of his teammates said. "We just don't want to jinx him." Jose Valdez hit an RBI double in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and walked in the 9th. To date Valdez has chalked up a .389 average with 15 home runs, driven in 48 runs and scored 57 times. |
