Appels Runs Hit String to 20 Straight Games Thursday, May 29th , 2025 Yuri Appels, third baseman for the Haviland Thrashers, ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games with 2 hits in his club's 18-5 victory over the Buckeye Local Panthers at Ballpark of Haviland. "I don't really know why it's even happening," he said with a grin after the game. "So asking me how long I can keep it up is kind of irrelevant. It'll end when it ends." Yuri Appels struck out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 7th. This year, Appels is batting .342 with 39 hits, 3 home runs, 14 RBIs, 8 walks, .385 OBP and has scored 21 runs. |
