Hit Parade: Shafer Gets Cycle
Wednesday, May 28th , 2025
Danny Shafer did everything he could for the Moncton Mounties -- literally.

The 19-year-old left fielder hit a single, a double, a triple and a home run for the Mounties, going for the cycle and helping them get past the Terra Linda Chargers, 19-3, at Mapleton Yards.

"Yeah, I was some kind of hitter in this game," Shafer reflected later. "It was like all I had to do was close my eyes and swing the bat."

In a game headed for the record books, Shafer banged out 4 hits in 4 at-bats and totaled 4 RBI and 6 runs scored. Speaking with the press about the feat, he attributed it to "a lot of luck."

"A triple is so hard to hit," he said. "To just decide to get one in a game when you need it for a cycle, it's impossible. Usually something weird has to happen, the ball kicking past an outfielder or somebody falling down. There's a ton of luck in hitting for a cycle."

Danny Shafer singled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, tripled in the 4th, walked in the 5th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Jim Unknown in the 6th and walked in the 8th.

Shafer is currently hitting at a .378 pace with 19 home runs and 57 RBIs.
