Consecutive-Game Hit Streak Continues for Raney

David Raney has been on a tear for several weeks, and his hitting streak just keeps getting longer. The 19-year-old Moncton Mounties third baseman extended his streak to 25 games, going 1-for-5 as Moncton got the best of the Long Island Torpedoes at Centerville Grounds, 14-12.
"David has been playing real well lately and we're proud of him," Mounties manager Johnny Hoffman said. David Raney walked in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 6th, struck out in the 8th, doubled in the 10th, grounded out in the 11th and walked in the 13th.
Raney is batting .479 this season in 36 games with 15 home runs, 53 RBIs and 42 runs scored. He has 68 hits in 142 at-bats.
