Marshall Booms 3 out of the Park Wednesday, May 17th , 2023 Chuluota Imperials third baseman Ronnie Marshall sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the San Bernardino Flight, Marshall told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Marshall pushed the Imperials past the Flight, 13-9. To go along with the homers, he collected 4 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Marshall told reporters after the game. Ronnie Marshall hit a solo-shot off Juan Esquibel in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 6th and flied out in the 8th. Marshall is batting .381 this season in 38 games with 18 home runs, 29 RBIs and 35 runs scored. He has 56 hits in 147 at-bats. |
