Conde 23-Game Hitting Streak Ends Friday, May 12th , 2023 Late in the game, all eyes in Ballpark of Plantersville were on Juan Conde as he stepped into the batter box. His 23-game hitting streak was on the line, and he had a zero in the hit column on the day. Sadly for Conde, it was not meant to be -- the zero would stay and the streak would end. If there was a silver lining for Conde, it was that his Terra Linda Chargers won the game anyway, stopping the Moncton Mounties by the score of 1-0. "Winning took some of the disappointment out of it," Conde told reporters in the clubhouse. "Looking back on it, it was a great experience. Not too many players can say they had a hit in 23 straight games. It's something I will always remember." This season, Conde has hit 6 home runs and posted a .322 batting average. |
