West Virginia Advances to Final 4 Friday, May 15th , 2026 The West Virginia Mountaineers and Kansas State Wildcats hooked up in a classic Elite 8 that went right down to the wire. In the end, it's West Virginia heading off to the Final 4, after a 9-4 win at Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium tonight earned the 2-1 series win. Outside Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium, whether they were supporters of West Virginia or Kansas State, many fans talked about how it was a series they would never forget. Chris Hernandez played the hero for the Mountaineers in the series, as his MVP performance included a .333 batting average, with a .333 on-base percentage. He also had 2 home runs, 4 RBI and scored 3 runs. The West Virginia Mountaineers will play against the Georgia Bulldogs in the next round. Georgia won their series against the Missouri Tigers 2 games to 1. The Final 4 schedule will be announced after the Elite 8 finishes. |
