Michigan State Takes Sweet 16 Saturday, May 9th , 2026 After their 9-0 win today at Drayton McLane Baseball Stadium at John H. Kobs Field over the Clemson Tigers, the Michigan State Spartans will advance to the Elite 8. Michigan State won the series by a 2-0 margin. Leading the way for the Spartans was first baseman Nick Bannister, who had a spectacular series and was named MVP. "I don't play differently in the regular season or playoffs. I just go out and do my best every game," he said. "It's certainly nice to play in the big game, but you can't let it get to your head and change your focus." The Michigan State Spartans don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Indiana Hoosiers - Louisville Cardinals series. That series is tied at 1 game each. The Elite 8 schedule will be announced after the Sweet 16 finishes. |
