Michigan State Advances to College World Series Thursday, May 21st , 2026 It went the distance, but the Michigan State Spartans finally disposed of the Virginia Cavaliers 8-0 in the series clincher at Davenport Field at Disharoon Park. Winning the finale gave the Spartans the series, 3-2. They will now advance to the College World Series. The Most Valuable Player Award went to Michigan State left fielder Vic Boron. He batted .500 in the series, collecting 5 RBIs and scoring 3 runs. "Vic deserves it," said Spartans manager Ben Kuehnel. "He was the glue that held our club together." The Michigan State Spartans will play against the West Virginia Mountaineers in the next round. West Virginia won their series against the Georgia Bulldogs 3 games to 1. The College World Series schedule will be announced after the Final 4 finishes. |
