West Virginia Wins Final 4 Thursday, May 21st , 2026 The Final 4 may not have lived up to the expectation that it would be a dogfight that would go the distance. The West Virginia Mountaineers, however, are not complaining. The Mountaineers were plenty happy to have wrapped up the series early and to have knocked out the Georgia Bulldogs to advance to the College World Series. West Virginia won the final game by a 2-0 count at Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium and the series 3-1. Mountaineers left fielder Brandon Henry was named series MVP, as he hit .417 with a .533 on-base percentage. He added 0 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 1 runs. "It's not going to be the last time Georgia makes it to the playoffs, so it's sure a nice feeling to put them out this year," Henry said. "We just need to keep this going and take it day by day." The West Virginia Mountaineers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Michigan State Spartans - Virginia Cavaliers series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The College World Series schedule will be announced after the Final 4 finishes. |
