Krystofiak Homers 3 Times Against Kansas Saturday, May 13th , 2023 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Kansas Jayhawks. Alabama catcher Justin Krystofiak tripled up on the home runs to propel the Crimson Tide to a win, 9-8, at Hoglund Ballpark. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Kansas manager Steve Kirchen said. "Krystofiak hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Krystofiak collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 7 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Justin Krystofiak hit a three-run home run off Giralldo Gameiro in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Kenny Hatley in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Cody McNicholas in the 8th. Krystofiak on the season is hitting .288 with 10 home runs. His stats include 32 RBIs and 30 runs scored. |
