Michigan State Takes Sweet 16 in Deciding Game Tuesday, May 9th , 2023 It took a while, but the Michigan State Spartans finally disposed of the USC Trojans 7-3 in the series clincher at Dedeaux Field. Winning the finale gave the Spartans the series, 2-1. They will now advance to the Elite 8. The Most Valuable Player Award went to Michigan State first baseman Mike Fearing. He batted .462 in the series, collecting 8 RBIs and scoring 4 runs. The Michigan State Spartans will play against the Wisconsin Badgers in the next round. Wisconsin won their series against the California Golden Bears 2 games to 0. The Elite 8 schedule will be announced after the Sweet 16 finishes. |
