Baggett Strokes 3 HR Against Nebraska Sunday, April 30th , 2023 Fans are still buzzing after Illinois whipped the Nebraska Cornhuskers by the score of 8-5 at Hawks Field. Tim Baggett smashed three home runs in the contest, a feat that would be a career highlight for most players and few fans ever see. In a tremendous performance, the left fielder bashed out 3 hits in 4 at-bats, had 6 RBIs and scored 3 times. At the postgame press conference, Baggett said it was an "unbelievable" feeling to hit three home runs in a game. "Getting one homer is special, and two is great," Baggett said. "Three is just... wow." Tim Baggett hit a solo-shot off Jim Wallace in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Malachi Morrison in the 6th, walked in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Chris Twardowski in the 9th. So far this year, Baggett has 10 home runs and a .235 batting average. |
