The Riverside Wolverines defeated the Chuluota Imperials, 16-0, in part because of second baseman Mark Mauro. Mauro was 4-5 with 4 singles. He scored 3 runs for the Wolverines. Jose Moncion, the winning pitcher, is now 8-5. He went 6.1 innings, allowing no runs on 5 hits, while fanning 3 and walking 5. The Wolverines now have a record of 66-63 with the win over Chuluota.

The Wolverines got a big hit from left fielder Valentino Ponchielli. Facing Chuluota pitcher Pedro Mendez in the top of the ninth, Ponchielli pounded a 3-run home run to right. His 4th home run of the season put the Wolverines ahead, 16-0.

"It kind of got out of hand on us there," said losing manager Larry Voltaire.
