Crystal Lake pitcher Miguel de Leon had a large part in his team beating the San Bernardino Flight, 5-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Crystal Lake reliever Jim Miller snagged the win, upping his record to 8-3. Vicente Hernandez shouldered the loss. Brian Kyzar nailed down his 8th save.
Hector Mejia chipped in for Crystal Lake, stroking a crucial run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning. For the game, the right fielder was 3 for 5 with 3 singles, while scoring 2.
"The vibe's good," said Crystal Lake manager Steve Warzecha. "We've got to keep it going."
