Nationals Earn Win with Late Rally
Jacksonville beat Riverside at Nationals Park, escaping with a 7-6 win. The win in large part was due to left fielder David Short. He was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. David Koontz snagged the win in relief. He goes to 3-3 on the season. Dermot Howe suffered the loss. Eddie Clickner closed out the game, earning his 8th save.

Jacksonville took advantage of an error in the bottom of the eighth inning. The game was tied, 6-6, when Julian Dixon hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Nationals in front, 7-6.

Nationals manager Zack Glomski wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."

Jacksonville sits in 5th place in the Southern Conference East Division at 41-43.
