A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Buckeye Local Panthers and Sunrise Manor Sunchasers.

The Buckeye Local Panthers had no problem beating the Sunrise Manor Sunchasers, 11-1, at Cincinnati Grounds. Chad Hubbard, who is tied for 10th in the SC in hits with 93, led the onslaught. He was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Buckeye Local. Roberto Ahumada earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 1.2 innings. His record is now 3-0.

Pat Barnett had a big 2-run double for the Panthers in the bottom of the first inning. With Buckeye Local leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 18-year old right-handed pitcher Cortez Alavez and swatted a double to center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Panthers ahead, 4-0.

Sunrise Manor manager called the blowout loss "not what we had in mind."

By defeating Sunrise Manor, the 4th-place Panthers improved to 27-32.
