Corpus Christi beat Riverside at Whataburger Field, eking out a 5-4 win. The triumph was primarily due to first baseman Tom Riggins. He went 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Today's win puts Corpus Christi at 21-35, while Riverside falls to 27-29.

Riggins had a big hit for Corpus Christi with two out in the bottom of the fourth. With Corpus Christi leading 3-2, Riggins hit a 2-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Texans up, 5-2.

"It's still just a game," said Riggins, "whether you win or lose."
