In a tight contest at Killer Stadium, the Crystal Lake Killers edged the Sunrise Manor Sunchasers by the score of 9-8. Crystal Lake first baseman Greg Mattox, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. The win gives Crystal Lake a season record of 32-23.

In the bottom of the seventh, Mattox put his team in front with his 13th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which came against Jesus Garcia, made it 9-8, Crystal Lake.

"Good pitching stops good hitting," said Mattox. "And vice-versa."
