Riverside Wolverines starter Dave Martinez turned in a workmanlike performance against the Jacksonville Nationals at Wolverines Ballpark. Riverside currently is in second place in the Southern Conference West Division at 25-27.

The decisive blow was delivered by Adam Persons in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run home run off 19-year old right-handed pitcher Alex Arredondo to win the game for Riverside. The home crowd went nuts.

"On the outside I was calm," said Wolverines manager Matt Augustus. "But inside I was a nervous wreck."
