Gordie Stotler had a big 2-run home run for the Thrashers in the top of the sixth inning. With Haviland leading 5-4 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a cutter from 17-year old right-handed pitcher Vicente Hernandez and punished it. The result was his 23rd home run of the season, which put the Thrashers on top, 7-4.

"This game is going to humble you at times and you've got to man up and deal with it," said San Bernardino manager Nick Neumann.
