Loss Mars Fine Effort by Gutierrez
The Riverside Wolverines outlasted Ruben Gutierrez and the Sunrise Manor Sunchasers, 11-9. Gutierrez was impressive in the loss. The Sunrise Manor center fielder went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 4. Tabari Jamal al Din, the winner, goes to 4-1. He allowed 4 runs on 6 hits, with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts over 6 innings. The second-place Wolverines improved to 26-13.

Tied up with the Sunchasers in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Wolverines got a boost from designated hitter Brad Tedder. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Tedder saw a 2-1 fastball from Cory Singer and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Riverside on top, 5-4.

"We've got a great group of guys," Tedder said, "and we're having fun right now."
