Flores Helps Thrashers Defeat Panthers, 8-6
|
Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Haviland Thrashers and Buckeye Local Panthers.
The Haviland Thrashers used the hitting of catcher Seth Flores to subdue the Buckeye Local Panthers, 8-6. For the game, Flores was 2-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. The save went to Max Mascareno, his 7th this season.
In the top of the sixth, Flores put his team in front with his 12th home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which came against Willie Beltran, made it 6-2, Haviland.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Flores, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
The Thrashers improved their record to 25-16 by beating Buckeye Local.
