Led by D'Andre Lyons, the Haviland Thrashers defeated the Crystal Lake Killers, 14-7. Lyons hit 2 home runs. He scored 5 runs and drove in 2 for the Thrashers. The Thrashers go to 23-15, putting them third in the Southern Conference East Division.

An inflection point occurred with no one out in the bottom of the fifth. That's when Thrashers designated hitter Juan Guerra hit a fastball from Erick Garcia for a 2-run home run. Just like that, Haviland was up, 8-7.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Bill Mason said.
