Earthquakes Slap 8-6 Loss on San Bernardino
Ft. Wayne right fielder Marc Brooks helped his team beat the San Bernardino Flight, 8-6. Brooks, who is tied for 10th in the SC in bases on balls with 20, went 2 for 4 for the Earthquakes. Mario Manrique got the win, improving to 1-1. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 6 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 1. Ray LeCain picked up his 9th save of the season.

Edgardo Perez cracked a home run off Alfredo Rivero in the bottom of the first. His 3-run blast put the Earthquakes on top, 3-2. In all, Perez had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Perez.

Ft. Wayne leads the Southern Conference East Division by 3½ games.
