Killers Win Pitchers' Duel, 2-1, Versus Imperials
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Crystal Lake Killers and the Chuluota Imperials, pitcher Orlando Mijares was the difference between victory and defeat. The Crystal Lake left-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 2-1 Killers win. Mijares yielded 1 run over 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 3-1. The Imperials, now 6-18, continue their sluggish start.
Dane East came through for Crystal Lake when he hit a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a two-strike changeup to right-center field, staking his team to a 2-0 lead.
