Sato Swings Earthquakes to 5-4 Win
The Ft. Wayne Earthquakes trumped the Haviland Thrashers, 5-4, at Earthquakes Stadium. Ft. Wayne catcher Haruyuki Sato was terrific. He went 4-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. The winning pitcher was Willie Escalera. His record now stands at 2-0. The right-hander went 5.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits for the Earthquakes. The Earthquakes, now 15-6, have been on fire in the early going.

With Ft. Wayne leading 4-1 in the bottom of the seventh, Sato hit a slider from David Ronquillo for a run-scoring double. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Earthquakes ahead, 5-1.

"I like how we're playing right now," said Sato.
