Raptors Earn 4-3 Win Versus Killers
|
The Crystal Lake Killers could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Carlos Corona into a win. Instead, the Picture Rocks Raptors prevailed, 4-3. Corona threw 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball. The winner in relief was Jim Unknown. He is now 1-0. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. The win gives Picture Rocks a record of 6-4.
Picture Rocks used a clutch hit from Julio Font to get the win. The pinch hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Raptors ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a doozy.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Font.
