Bill Thompson pitched well, but the Ft. Wayne Earthquakes still fell short, losing, 4-1, to the Sunrise Manor Sunchasers at Field of the Sunchasers. Sunrise Manor reliever Tom Moore was credited with the win. His record goes to 2-0. Bill Thompson took the loss for Ft. Wayne. Ft. Wayne, with the loss, is still a hardy 5-2.

Manuel Ayala cracked a home run off Bill Thompson in the bottom of the fifth. His solo blast put the Sunchasers on top, 2-1. In all, Ayala had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Ayala said after the game.
