Rams Cut Down Chargers, 3-2

Omar Valentin could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Terra Linda Chargers lost, dropping a 3-2 decision to the Borrego Springs Rams at Club Circle Park. Randy Dietrich, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 5th save. At 73-56, Borrego Springs is in second place in the Northern Conference West Division.
Jose Martinez, who is tied for 10th in the NC in runs scored with 77, took Terra Linda hurler Omar Valentin deep in the bottom of the third. His 2-run home run put the Rams on top, 2-0. In all, Martinez had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
Borrego Springs manager Michael Wright said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
