Buffalo Wins, Cossey reaches base 3 times

The Buffalo Bellflowers knocked off the Long Island Torpedoes, 5-2, at Wegman's Field. Nick Cossey was a big reason Buffalo won. The catcher went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Miguel Flores, the winner, improved to 1-3. He held Long Island to 2 runs on 5 hits over 5.1 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. The Bellflowers, at 42-30, have now won 5 straight.
In the bottom of the third, Cossey had a 3-run home run for Buffalo. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Bellflowers on top, 3-0.
Cossey told a Buffalo Daily News reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
