Whitby Absorbs 9-6 Loss to Moncton
|
Moncton left fielder Danny Shafer made his presence felt in the 9-6 Mounties triumph over the Whitby Bats. Shafer went 2-5 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Earning his 4th save for Moncton was Joel Cogswell. The first-place Mounties have won 4 straight games.
The Mounties benefited from a costly error in the bottom of the third. With Armando Flores at bat and Moncton leading 3-2, the Whitby miscue allowed Moncton to plate 1 and take the lead, 4-2.
"You start putting runs on the board and winning, everyone's going to get excited," said Shafer.
