Tight Tilt Goes to Bellflowers, 2-1

The Buffalo Bellflowers did just enough to sneak past the Tiverton Colonels, 2-1, at Field of the Colonels. Buffalo pitcher Tom Donnelly, in particular, had a standout performance. The winner was Donnelly. He threw 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball. The loser was Arturo Martinez. The Bellflowers, at 33-21, lead by one game in their division.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Joe Morrison? The 22-year old second baseman Morrison stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put Buffalo up, 2-1. For the game, he was 2 for 2, including 1 double and 1 single.
