Division Series Game 1 Victory for Monteleone and Santa Rosa
The Division Series got off to a quiet start, with the host Santa Rosa Desperados taking a low-scoring, 2-1 win over the Grand Rapids Jet Hawks. Santa Rosa right-hander Adam Monteleone was marvelous at Keelhaulers Ballpark. The Desperados now hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Desperados had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when third baseman Craig Riddell hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Eunice Bamberg and made the score 2-1, Desperados. Riddell was 3-4 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI.

"Every loss hurts," said Grand Rapids manager Sadayuki Nishikawa. "But this was a tough one."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Keelhaulers Ballpark in Santa Rosa.
