Marauders Hammered by Fowler, Drop Game 3 to Whistlers
|
The Boston Whistlers have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Philadelphia Marauders, winning, 7-4, at Whislters Park. Whistlers catcher Mike Fowler hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The win cuts the deficit facing the Whistlers to 2-1 in the best-of-7 Divisional Series.
A key moment came with two out in the bottom of the second. That's when Fowler hit a curveball from Carlos Mendez for a 3-run home run, putting Boston up, 4-0.
Marauders manager Danny Ordaz did not take questions after the game, telling assembled reporters that he would hold a press conference "if and when we win the World Series."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Whislters Park in Boston.
