Road Win Lifts Spokane to 1-0 Lead in CS
The League Championship Series got off to a quiet start, with the traveling Spokane Selects taking a low-scoring, 2-1 win over the host Orono Oaks. Spokane right-hander Jesse Walker was marvelous at University of Maine Stadium. The Selects now hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Walker was in the zone all game. He frustrated Orono hitters while giving the Selects 6.1 innings of quality work. Walker threw 87 pitches, allowing 3 hits and getting 9 punchouts.

Walker attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at University of Maine Stadium in Orono.
