Behind the big arm of right-hander Antonio Mendoza, the London Tigers have opened up a healthy early lead in the League Championship Series. The Tigers topped the Augusta Capitols, 3-0, at The Capitol Dome in Game 2, and now hold a 2-0 edge in the best-of-7 series. Mendoza threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball to power London to victory.

Mendoza was in the zone, shutting down Augusta hitters over 7 innings. Mendoza, who threw 98 pitches, allowed no runs on 4 hits. He also tallied 7 punchouts.

"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Mendoza.

Game 3 is scheduled for Friday at Ballpark of Oklahoma City in London.
