Mountaineers Advance to World Series
|
The Winchester Mountaineers looked strong and dominant in a series sweep against the Riverside Rotters.
The League Championship Series victory gives the club a great deal of momentum heading into the World Series.
Winchester won the final game by a 5-2 count and the series 4-0.
Angelo Quezada captured MVP honors on the strength of his 0.00 ERA over 6 innings pitched. He had a 0-0 record.
"As long as we win, that's all that matters" he said of the honor.
The Winchester Mountaineers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the London Tigers - Augusta Capitols series. London leads the series 3 games to 2. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
