The Austin Desperados got past the Detroit Giants by the score of 7-6 in the crucial first game of the Wildcard Game at Dell Diamond. Austin third baseman Ramon Dozal went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once, to lead the charge. With a 1-0 lead, the Desperados will have two chances to close out the Giants.

Leo Serna drove in one run against the Giants. With the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, he hit a sacrifice fly that put Austin in front, 7-6.

"You can't hate how you win if you win," said Austin skipper Adam Ponder.

The next game is set to be played for Saturday, September 30th , 2023 at Ballpark of Detroit in Detroit.
