Their bats were silent and Orono had a rookie on the mound. No problem.

On a day when the Oaks struggled to string together much offense, the club got a big boost from 23-year-old starter D.J. Urbanek. The left-hander quieted the Hickory Crawdads at Crawdad Park to help Orono take the 3-2 decision and seize a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Division Series.

Tyler Tolbert hit a 2-run triple off Chad Bendon in the top of the third, which put the Oaks in front, 2-0. In addition to the triple, Tolbert had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 4.

"You have to trust that what you're doing is going to produce results," said Urbanek.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Crawdad Park in Hickory.
