Road Win Lifts Dollywood to 2-1 Lead in DS
|
Despite a great performance by Barrie starter Omar Lorenzo, the Dollywood Partons defeated the Admirals by the score of 4-1 at Stadia de Leones. Lorenzo threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball, but he couldn't prevent the Partons from moving one game closer to the League Championship Series. Dollywood now leads the Division Series 2-1.
Dollywood used a timely hit from Colby Freese to get the win. The left fielder stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Partons ahead, 4-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Freese said.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Stadia de Leones in Barrie.
