Princes Shut Out Archers, 5-0

The Lincoln Princes racked up a win at Lincoln Grounds, bumping off the Abingdon Archers, 5-0. Emmanuel Ortega, who started for Lincoln, pitched effectively for his team. Ortega, now 3-6, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 2, walking 2, and allowing no runs. Lincoln is now 19-25, while Abingdon is 16-28.
The Princes got a big at-bat from shortstop Mario Chavez. For the game, Chavez was 1-2 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Lincoln a 2-0 lead.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Chavez. "And not try to do too much."
