A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Franklin Cubs and Whitby Bats.

Franklin pitcher Paul Dolezal had a large part in his team beating the Whitby Bats, 4-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Dolezal yielded 1 run over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 5, and struck out 4. His record improves to 3-4.

Franklin used the hitting of Tony Bradshaw to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Cubs on top, 2-1. For the game, Bradshaw had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

Dolezal attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
