A 6-RBI performance from designated hitter Jose Ramos led the Franklin Cubs to a win over the Moncton Mounties, 14-3. Jim Unknown, now 1-0, was credited with the win in 4.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 2 and walking 2.

Ramos contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Franklin in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 3-2, Ramos took a fastball from Marvin Bobbitt and stroked the home run to center. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Cubs to leap in front, 6-3.

Franklin manager Kerry McElree commended his team for "putting the hammer down."

The Franklin win streak is now 5 games.
