The Franklin Cubs took on the Moncton Mounties at Mapleton Yards.

The Franklin Cubs topped the Moncton Mounties, 5-1, in Northern Conference action at Mapleton Yards. The standout performance belonged to Franklin pitcher and Killeen, Texas, native Paul Dolezal. The defeat makes Moncton 16-17.

Franklin took the lead, 3-1, on Paul Dankenbring's 14th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Moncton pitcher Eduardo Garcia in the top of the seventh.

"I felt good up there," said Dankenbring. "I saw the ball well."
