Bellflowers Get Clutch Win Versus Saint Pierre and Miquelon
|
A good performance from shortstop Chris Cooper helped the Buffalo Bellflowers defeat the Saint Pierre and Miquelon Pirates, 4-3. Cooper went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Bellflowers. The win belonged to Paul Ganley in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Jim Unknown took the loss for Saint Pierre and Miquelon. Pedro Tello nailed down the save.
Oak Park, Indiana native Chris Cooper had a clutch at-bat in the bottom of the eighth for the Bellflowers. With Buffalo trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single.
After the game, Buffalo manager Andy Perez applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
Buffalo leads the Northern Conference East Division by 3½ games.
