Though he had a terrific game, John Aiello could not prevent his team, the Long Island Torpedoes, from absorbing a loss. Moncton won the game, 15-4. Aiello was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. John Gillies, who is tied for 5th in the NC in strikeouts with 21, was the winning pitcher. Over 7.2 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 9 hits, with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts. The Mounties, now 21-1, have had a terrific start to the season.

In the bottom of the second inning, catcher Gabe Prado had a 3-run home run for Moncton. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Mounties on top, 3-0.

"When their pitchers are leaving stuff over the heart of the plate, we're not missing it," said Moncton manager Johnny Hoffman.
