Princes Send Borrego Springs Home with 6-1 Loss
|
Lincoln Princes starter Gabe Ortega turned in an exceptional performance against the Borrego Springs Rams at Club Circle Park, resulting in a Lincoln win, 6-1. In 6.1 innings, Ortega surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. The win gives Lincoln a record of 10-10.
T.J. Herrera had a big run-scoring triple for the Princes in the top of the fifth inning. With Lincoln leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from 18-year old right-handed pitcher Carlos Gonzalez and swatted a triple to left. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Princes ahead, 3-1.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Borrego Springs manager Rob Kearney.
